Sunday Worship at 10.30am – Florence will bring God’s Word. Elaine Henderson will lead worship.

Children@ACF. Our Sunday morning activities for children are: Age 3 – P1 in the DJ Team room (by the creche): P2-4 in the coffee hall; P5 & P6 are in the cube room; *Parents, please pick your children up after the service* ; Ignite: P7 – S2 Bible Study meets in the youth room at the front of the main hall. All groups run from 11am to 12 noon.

Youth activities

The Step, Youth Cafe (S1-S6) is on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtime from 12.30-1.20pm.

Fuel (P7-S3) Youth Cafe meets Fortnightly on a Friday Night from 7-9pm. Diesel (S3-S6) Weekly Youth Bible Study is on a Monday Night 7-9pm.

On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month after the evening service all the youth meet around at the Webbs from 7.45-9pm for a social. It is open to anyone in P7-S6.

Women’s Bible StudyMondays at 9.30am.  The study will be based on the book ‘The Shelter of God’s Promises’ by Sheila  Walsh. 

Prayer Meeting and Bible Study: Tuesday 7.30pm. Vijay Pillai, will lead the study in the book of Hebrews.This week the prayer time will be led by the leadership team.

Mainly Music: Mainly Music is a fun music time for parents/caregivers and their preschool children, followed by coffee and free play session. It meets every Thursday from 10.00am -11.15am during school term time. If you are interested in coming along, please contact or speak to Donna Cuthill.

Men’s Group: Held every two weeks. We next meet on Thursday 4 December at 7.30pm. Speak to James Packham for further information

Seniors Friday: Held every Friday from 10.30am to 12 noon. Food, quizzes, teas,coffees and a blether. Speak to Bert or Beth Wilson for further information.

Sunday evening services are held on the first and third Sundays each month, commencing at 6.30pm. The next service will be on 7 December when Pete Henderson will bring God’s Word and James Packham will lead worship.

Messy Church: Is held on the first Sunday of every month from 4pm to 6pm. Next Messy Church is Sunday 7 December. Messy Church is open to all children aged 3 to 11 years, Messy Church will include a wide range of appropriate activities for the children, who will also have some food together. Christmas@ACF:

7 December: Christmas Fayre; Noon to 1pm; An opportunity to buy a selection of crafts etc made by the children and youth of ACF.

7 December: Messy Church does Christmas. See above for details.

8 December: Carols in the Car Park; 7pm to 8pm. Join the band and choir of Harlaw Academy and the choir of Ashley Road Primary as we sing carols together. Followed by much need hot drinks and Christmas pies.

14 December: Home Group Christmas Cracker: 7.30pm to 9pm ish: Come dressed as something vaguely connected with the Christmas table for an evening of fun and laughter. You don’t even have to be a member of a home group to attend.

21 December: Nativity Children’s Service. 10.30-11.30am. Morning worship featuring the children re-telling the Christmas story.

24 December: Christmas Eve Carol Service; 7pm to 8pm, followed by festive (alcohol free) drinks and nibbles.

25 December: Christmas morning worship. 10.30am to 11.15am. Children bring along your favourite present.

Christmas affords us a fantastic opportunity to reach out to anyone and everyone we know. Invitations detailing the above activities will be available in the church from 23 November, so please make good use of them.

Home Groups: Held on the second and fourth weeks monthly. Groups next meet week commencing 14 December on a Sunday afternoon, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday, early evening. For more information please contact Pete Henderson.

Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society: The healthcare charity EMMS International is running a church roadshow from 28 November to 12 December at 5 Scottish venues in supportive of our Sunday’s child appeal to provide pain relief to cancer sufferers in Malawi.

Date:  December 6th – 7:30-9:30 pm: Location: Aberdeen Christian Fellowship: Time: Doors open 7pm. Join EMMS and Eloho Efemuai for a special evening of live gospel music and inspirational stories as we get into the festive spirit. We will be joined by Dr. Cornelius Huwa who will talk about our work on providing compassionate healthcare and pain relief to cancer sufferers in Malawi. Free will offering will be uplifted and all donations raised on the night will be matched by the UK Government’s Match funding scheme.

News:

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS: We are now collecting donations for our annual hamper outreach. Each hamper is given to those in need in our community. Included in each, along with  all food items, is a booklet explaining the meaning of Christmas. Please contribute non perishables such as tins of fruit, meat, soup, dried good, tea, coffee, biscuits, rice/pasta, and, of course chocolate. Many thanks.

ACF FOOD BANK: To support The Lighthouse and others in need, food items such as cereal, sugar,tea, coffee, biscuits, and tins/jars/packets of soup, meat, meals, vegetables, together with household cleaning items and toiletries, can be donated. Plastic collecting bins will be in the foyer for this purpose.DUE TO CHURCHES GENEROUSLY DONATING THEIR HARVEST THANKSGIVING APPEALS, THE CURRENT SHOE BOX APPEAL, AND THE UPCOMING CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL, THE FOOD BANK WILL RESUME IN JANUARY 2015.
