In this last of a 3-part series that traces the storyline of the Bible, we see how the Old Testament concludes by anticipating a figure who will do what Israel could not do, mediate blessing to the whole earth. This person, the New Testament tells us is the person of Jesus Christ, who through his suffering and death becomes the agent of God’s blessing throughout the earth. His followers are then commissioned to continue what he has started, empowered by God. The ultimate design of creation will, one day, be fulfilled when creation will be blessed under Christ.
