The uncertainty of the future can terrify and even paralyse us. But, God gives us divine resources in the form of himself and, in what the bible calls, ‘wisdom’. Wisdom is not simply knowledge (that some might equate with cleverness) or even conduct (knowing how to act well in this world). Wisdom is the art of living skillfully. It is rooted in the reverence and love for God. Those who have such a reverence for God have the right sort of perspective that informs knowledge and conduct. The challenge for every believer is not to be a ‘fool’, that is to say, not to prize anything above a reverence for the Lord.
