Christmas may not be what we’re expecting this year because of the Covid restrictions, but it could be more than some in Aberdeen are expecting, thanks to ACF.
With Christmas just a few short weeks away it’s time for our annual Hamper Appeal, the time when we make up (mainly) food hampers for distribution to some in need in the City. The impact of Covid-19 means there is a greater impetus for such an appeal this year, as more families are experiencing job loss, lower wages, poverty. The resultant pressure will only add to the stressful time that Christmas has become in the 21st Century, as the coming of the Prince of Peace is side-lined by consumerism.
This Christmas, because of the imposed Covid restrictions, Hampers will be the main outreach activity of ACF, so a booklet ‘The Real Christmas’ will be included in every hamper. We do what we should and what we can, leaving the rest to our Sovereign God. Can you help? Will you help? Here’s how.
Donations
ACF will be open to receive your donation between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday’s 21st and 28th November, and Saturday 5 December. Social distancing will be adhered to as you drop off your donation outside the building. Volunteers will wipe down bags before taking the goods inside, where they will be safely stored. Bags will be returned outside if required.
If you are unable to get to ACF, volunteers can come to your home and pick up your donation. Simply let us know when, from the dates above, and where to come to, by contacting the office on 07307 654 996 or by e-mail on office@aberdeencf.com Please be aware that the usual distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
