Eleanor is trekking again. This time she’s going up Kilimanjaro. here’s what she says:
‘I hope to climb Kilimanjaro in March this year- soon! Although I’ve done some big treks in the past it is seven years since I did Everest Base Camp. Kilimanjaro will be a real challenge , not just because of the height, but after my EBC trek I was diagnosed with a progressive medical condition and last year saw me reach the big 7 0! In 2016 I visited Tanzania and saw first hand the dedicated work of some of the Tumaini staff and the needs of the people the organisation supports. It was encouraging to find some of the Tumaini staff had previously been children supported by the charity. Current projects include the development of a primary school in a very remote area and training local staff to provide psycho social support to people affected by AIDS.
I will do my best , (thanks in no small measure to our health care system and the prayers of many faithful friends and family) to reach the dizzy heights of Kilimanjaro. Every penny you donate will go in full to the charity. In Tanzania a small (to us) amount of money goes a long way! Many thanks for your support.
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded’.
