Sunday Worship at 10.30am (No Communion). Pastor Vijay Pillai will bring God’s Word. James Packham will lead worship. This is Remembrance Sunday and a time for reflection and remembrance will be included in the service.

CHURCH MEMBERS MEETING:There will be a brief members meeting after morning worship on Sunday 9 November 2014, when Vijay will will report on the several membership applications received.

Children@ACF. Our Sunday morning activities for children are: Age 3 – P1 in the DJ Team room (by the creche): P2-4 in the coffee hall; P5 & P6 are in the cube room; *Parents, please pick your children up after the service* ; Ignite: P7 – S2 Bible Study meets in the youth room at the front of the main hall. All groups run from 11am to 12 noon.

Home Groups: Held on the second and fourth weeks monthly. Groups next meet week commencing 9 November on a Sunday afternoon, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday, early evening. For more information please contact Pete Henderson.

Youth activities

The Step, Youth Cafe (S1-S6) is on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtime from 12.30-1.20pm.

Fuel (P7-S3) Youth Cafe meets Fortnightly on a Friday Night from 7-9pm. Diesel (S3-S6) Weekly Youth Bible Study is on a Monday Night 7-9pm.

On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month after the evening service all the youth meet around at the Webbs from 7.45-9pm for a social. It is open to anyone in P7-S6.

Women’s Bible StudyMondays at 9.30am.  The study will be based on the book ‘The Shelter of God’s Promises’ by Sheila  Walsh. 

Prayer Meeting and Bible Study: Tuesday 7.30pm. Our Pastor, Vijay Pillai, will lead the study in the book of Hebrews.This week the prayer time will be led by Global Impact.

Mainly Music: Mainly Music is a fun music time for parents/caregivers and their preschool children, followed by coffee and free play session. It meets every Thursday from 10.00am -11.15am during school term time. If you are interested in coming along, please contact or speak to Donna Cuthill.

Seniors Friday: Held every Friday from 10.30am to 12 noon. Food, quizzes, teas,coffees and a blether. Speak to Bert or Beth Wilson for further information.

 Future Events at ACF:

Sunday evening services are held on the first and third Sundays each month, commencing at 6.30pm. The next service will be on 16 November and will be led by our Youth Group.

Men’s Group: Held every two weeks. We next meet on Thursday 20 November at 7.30pm. Speak to James Packham for further information

Messy Church: Is held on the first Sunday of every month from 4pm to 6pm. Next Messy Church is Sunday 7 December. Messy Church is open to all children aged 3 to 11 years, Messy Church will include a wide range of appropriate activities for the children, who will also have some food together. Aime Aitken Concert: As part of the ‘Home for Good’ 2014 National Tour, ‘small wooden platform’are delighted to announce that Amie Aitken will be performing in the church on Saturday 15th Nov’14. Admission is free – an offering will be taken on the night to help cover costs. For tickets or more information about the event, please contact, Craig Smith Tel: 07535 021388. www.smallwoodenplatform.com  Home for Good, www.homeforgood.org.uk, is a charity finding loving adoptive and foster homes for vulnerable children. It aims to change the culture in local churches throughout the UK, to make adopting and fostering a significant part of their life and ministry. As part of the evening, HoKrish Kandiah, Founder and Director ofHome for Good, www.krishk.com will also share some of the challenges faced by children in the care system and show how the local church can be a part of the solution.

Church AGM: Tuesday 18 November 2014, 7.30pm. All welcome, you don’t have to be a member to attend.

Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society: The healthcare charity EMMS International is running a church roadshow from 28 November to 12 December at 5 Scottish venues in supportive of our Sunday’s child appeal to provide pain relief to cancer sufferers in Malawi.

Date:  December 6th – 7:30-9:30 pm: Location: Aberdeen Christian Fellowship: Time: Doors open 7pm. Join EMMS and Eloho Efemuai for a special evening of live gospel music and inspirational stories as we get into the festive spirit. We will be joined by Dr. Cornelius Huwa who will talk about our work on providing compassionate healthcare and pain relief to cancer sufferers in Malawi. Free will offering will be uplifted and all donations raised on the night will be matched by the UK Government’s Match funding scheme.

Future events outwith ACF: 

Christians in Sport: CIS is holding a ‘Clubhouse’ event in Aberdeen providing a great opportunity for Christian sportspeople across the city to be encouraged, envisioned and equipped to reach their world of sport for Christ.  It also allows church leaders and workers the opportunity to consider how their church might engage with sport in their community.

Friday 21st November, Hebron Evangelical Church, 7.00pm for 7.30pm start-9.30pm; Free entry (donations on the night); 16yrs+ (14-15 yr olds can come with a parent/adult). Bookings can be made at www.christiansinsport.org.uk/clubhouse

Friends International: Friends Int are needing hosts for another 30 international students who have signed up to their hospitality scheme. ACF FOOD BANK: To support The Lighthouse and others in need, food items such as cereal, sugar,tea, coffee, biscuits, and tins/jars/packets of soup, meat, meals, vegetables, together with household cleaning items and toiletries, can be donated. Plastic collecting bins will be in the foyer for this purpose.DUE TO CHURCHES GENEROUSLY DONATING THEIR HARVEST THANKSGIVING APPEALS, THE CURRENT SHOE BOX APPEAL, AND THE UPCOMING CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL, THE FOOD BANK WILL RESUME IN JANUARY 2015.
